"BKRM3" (BKRM3)

Got some Schroth Quick Fit Pro 4-point harnesses installed yesterday when my car was in for an oil change and brake fluid flush. Also got some new tow straps from Turner (which I hope I never have occasion to use). Couldn't resist putting everything in. New car parts > Christmas. And now I'll be unclipping the harnesses without delay. They're way too obnoxious to use on the street.
Sorry for the iPotato pics.

Those are okay mounted like that for something like autocross or rally cross, but could kill you if you go to a track and flip. Would need a harness bar to use safely at any event where there is even the slimmest chance of rolling.
That said, for things like auto-x they can be really helpful as they stop you from sliding around in your seat.

And the extra weight of a motorcycle helmet could cause your neck to break under the exact right circumstances where it otherwise wouldn't if you weren't wearing one, yet in the vast majority of situations wearing a helmet is helpful. Same thing here. This 4 point (new, tested with ASM and specifically designed for this car) with a HANS is safer than the oem 3 point belt in ALMOST every situation. Not to mention that I'll be able to drive better when I'm not bracing myself with the wheel and center console. I understand the risk and will take my chances. This is for HPDE use, not a race.

BKRM3 used "All Up In Yo Grill" defense. It was mildly effective.

Those belts concern me a bit. Can you show me where they're anchored in the rear?

Wait a minute... those two top straps... downward angle... aren't those specifically NOT supposed to be routed like that, because your spine and shoulders will be crushed in most collisions??
Not trying to throw crap your way; the car is beautiful otherwise.

They tie into the rear seatbelt outboard anchor and rear seatbelt buckle. That allows them to have a very slight downward angle and to utilize all of the oem seatbelt system pretensioners. Google the Schroth quick fit pro. It's not at all like the picture you posted but the picture I used definitely doesn't make that easy to see.

Thanks! See my reply to Dusty with the picture. They don't go down behind the seat at all, they go to the back. Schroth tends to be on top of that when they design model-specific quick fits =)

Ok, I'm not keen on how close together the headrest posts make the belts behind your neck/shoulders but they should be good for autocross-type fun. I wouldn't use them on the road. Track day would be borderline to me. But then I'm regularly in a world where SFI 5 and 6-point belts must be adjusted and secured in very specific ways at very specific angles, so I'm stickler-ish.
